Our Favourite Restaurants in Squamish

Squamish is known for its beautiful, Instagram-worthy views that delight both residents and tourists alike. A space so close to nature definitely has a lot to offer, especially for those famished from an intense hike! Most of the restaurants here support local fare and seasonal dishes. With so many options to choose from, you needn’t look far to find a restaurant to sate your appetite. Here are our favourite spots to eat in Squamish.

Fergie’s

Located just outside of Squamish in the gorgeous Paradise Valley, this café boasts of the best mountain and river views around. Enjoy the best in locally-sourced fares such as the Dubliner Benny, a bacon-apple filled take on a brunch staple. At 3 pm, Fergie’s serves their dinner menu, where guests can choose from signature dishes like smoked salmon & kale caesar salad, apple bangers & mash, and more. The restaurant was also recently renovated, showcasing a brand new beautiful decor. If you’re in the area for a camping trip with friends or family, brunching at Fergie’s is a must.

Sky Pilot Restaurant

Sky Pilot is one of Summit Lodge’s cafes and is located conveniently at the end of the Sea to Sky Trail. Because what better way to reward yourself after a long, uphill hike (Sea to Sky offers numerous trails for everyone) than with the best of West Coast cuisine? At 885 metres above Howe Sound, diners can enjoy fresh, local, and seasonal dishes amidst a beautiful backdrop. If you’re feeling too full to walk back after, you can ride the Sea to Sky gondola, a smooth-sailing 10-minute ride that offers the same breathtaking views from a different perspective. Unfortunately, this gondola will be out of action for the foreseeable future, but it is definitely worth mentioning here and rest assured the heroes that operate this convenient method of travel will have it back up soon. When it is fully operational, you can just ride the gondola up to the restaurant and skip the hike altogether. (Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone.)

Howe Sound BrewingHowe Sound Brewing is a Squamish institution, serving its award-winning craft beers for over two decades now. Today, the Howe Sound Brewing brand includes a brewpub and an inn that highlights the best brews and views of Sea to Sky Country. Diners can lounge at the Brewpub’s patio and enjoy the fresh mountain air while feasting on seasonal produce and local seafood.

Watershed Grill

Right on the Squamish River, Watershed Grill boasts of having the only riverside patio in the area. Basking in the sparkling teal blue of the river with a cold beer is definitely a great way to end a long day spent fishing. Shed, as the locals call it, is home to the River Burger, an all-natural, free-range beef patty loaded with the best toppings on top of a toasted Brioche bun that always gets voted Best Burger in Squamish.

Backcountry Brewing

Backcountry is another homegrown brew brand that opened in 2017. A team of passionate craft beer enthusiasts came together with a vision of a brewery-tasting room-kitchen unit and built it right here in Squamish. The tasting room was designed to feel like a 1970s ski cabin, a perfect ambience that matches a restaurant tucked in the mountains. Backcountry serves seasonal beers weekly alongside an evolving “from scratch” food menu with dishes like hand-tossed, thin-crust pizza, seasonal salads, and other snacks.

Sunny Chibas

Sunny Chibas is a highway-side location easily seen by anyone driving from Vancouver to Whistler. Fans highly recommend the burritos as a source of sustenance before and after hiking, but don’t miss out on the chicken and huge range of Mexican inspired poutine options either. The retro and funky atmosphere makes it such a fun atmosphere, no wonder people find themselves travelling up and down the Sea To Sky Highway just to eat here.

The Salted Vine Kitchen + Bar

This chic location, inspired by modern-country farmhouse décor, offers an upscale dining experience amidst the picturesque Squamish outdoors. Highly reviewed by most of its guests, Salted Vine is known to serve fresh ingredients with beautifully plated setups, ensuring that you have a feast for both the belly and the eyes. Aside from high-quality meats (wagyu and kobe are known to make appearances from time to time) and delicious cocktails, Salted Vine is praised for its great selection of cheeses and charcuterie.
